Speaker 1:

Welcome leaders, welcome to the show. I am super excited for this episode as we are finishing off 2024 and moving into 2025. I have some exciting news about the podcast. We did a slight brand refresh, so not a complete overhaul, but a little bit of a refresh. When I started the podcast about a year ago a little over a year ago I was testing things out, feeling things out, really getting a feel for what I enjoy talking about, what others enjoy hearing about, and we've shifted the name of the confident, connected leader to the magnetic leader. The reason being is, when you really look at what does it mean to be confident? Connected to your purpose, connected to your values, confident in what you're doing, confident in who you are and how you're showing up in the world it really embodies magnetism. When you are confident and connected, you are magnetic. So we've shifted the name to the magnetic leader and it corresponds to us also shifting the power play program to the magnetic leadership accelerator. We're super excited about that. We had a wonderful artist create us a new intro for the podcast. The artist who did our last intro was unavailable and we found a new one. He's brilliant.

Speaker 1:

We're excited about how this is moving forward and how it's going to affect the content is simply we're gonna be focusing in on how do you truly become magnetic and really, when we break down magnetic it simply means how can you truly be yourself, how can you truly show up in the world without the fear, without the fear programs, without the self-identity programs that have you acting, behaving and thinking in a way that's not truly the core of who you are. Our purpose has many pieces that it many pieces involve, are involved in us truly living our purpose right. Our purpose means a million different things, not just what we're doing for work, which how it's often the term is often used, but a big core of that is simply learning who we are at that deeper level and practicing expressing that into the world. One of the things that I've seen, with over 11 years of working with coaching clients and, previous to that, 16 years of working in the school board one of the biggest of people not truly being themselves in their life, in their work, is simply because of fear programs and a fear around being separated from the pack, which is normal, which is fine. There's nothing wrong with that. That is part of our survival programming, right. But what happens is we start holding back who we are, how we want to express ourselves, how we want to show up, what we want to say online, what we want to create, even how we're dressing, how we're looking.

Speaker 1:

I grew up in the 80s and 90s. One of the things I remember was everyone's style was very unique and I say that with a little bit of a pause because I'm thinking back and we did have groups right, so you kind of fit into whatever group you were in and a lot of the groups were tied to music genres. So if you were a rocker, you would dress a certain way, or if you were into grunge, you would look a certain way, or electronic EDM, and people kind of stuck to the hose categories and I'm not saying that that's somehow a better way of doing it, but you would have. There was a lot of different variety. And now what I see online is a lot of people looking the same and a lot of women looking the same, because I'm more so looking at women, because I am a woman. But a lot of us are looking the same, like we have the same styles. And I'm including myself in this as well, because when I look at my style years ago, it was very much unique. I really like to stand out in that way, but now when I'm looking at, I'm like, well, kind of looking the same, we're all doing the same makeup, we're all kind of doing the same thing. Sometimes we veer off and do a little bit of our own, but there's nothing really that's standing out to the point of and obviously I'm generalizing, there are people that still stand out with their fashion hair and makeup, but I think a big part of this is because of social media and because of this inner, deep need to fit in and be accepted. We've all kind of disconnected from the true expression of who we are, from the true expression of who we are.

Speaker 1:

Part of the path forward as we move into next year and many years forward is starting to really assess okay, who am I? What do I want to? How do I want to show up, how do I want to express myself? Because there is so much beauty and so much that we're missing out on when we don't feel safe bringing our full self to the table and others don't feel safe bringing their full self to the table and others don't feel safe bringing their full self to the table. So what happens is we all get this watered down version and not to mention cancel culture, which is so toxic, and this whole misinformation spiel since 2020, where everyone feels like they can't really be themselves and share their thoughts and their views without being canceled. I haven't seen a lot of that going on as much as it was a few years ago, but it was absolutely ridiculous the type of canceling and mob type culture that was happening and I think what's happened with a lot of the highly sensitive, empathic leaders people that I work with, at least, are typically highly sensitive, powerful leaders because that's part of the work that they do in this world Conscious and concerned about really bringing their full self to the table, because of about really bringing their full self to the table because of the fear of what can happen when you share from that place of opinion that may not go with the status quo or standing out with what you look like or whatever the case may be.

Speaker 1:

So, as we move into this new year, I want you to start to think for yourself what are my core values? What is really true for me? Not what other people are telling me I should value or what other people are telling me is important, like, lord knows. We've had so much of that as well in the past few years. People basically telling you you're either a good person if you follow this or you speak about this, or you're a bad person if you don't speak about this or you don't follow this narrative. And again, this rhetoric is just a form of manipulation and the mob mentality. We want to separate from that and really get clear. Who am I? What do I value? What is important for me?

Speaker 1:

You came in here with values and desires that are very specific to you. For a reason. They are very specific to you because you're meant to live them in this life and you living these values is going to be affecting other people that you are meant to affect and impact, with you truly living up to your core values. That's why we have soul contracts with others. We have come in to learn certain lessons. So when we are not aligned with our values, when we are following a program, when we are doing what we think we should be doing, a lot of times this is where it leads to feeling like either I'm not happy, I'm not enjoying this work, I'm doing to slightly bored, uninspired, to absolutely soul-crushing experience if certain values that are really important to us, that we're meant to live in this life, aren't being met. It's a process of understanding what are your true values and what are values that you believe are your core values but are really there from a sense of wounding. This is what we are focusing on in the Magnetic Leadership Accelerator beta program as the first part of our module, the align module, because without it, everything else you're doing moving forward if we don't have this alignment.

Speaker 1:

This is why many people start self-sabotaging their movement forward. They're not in alignment. They don't even care about what they are moving towards. They're either doing it from a sense of safety, because they believe it's going to allow them to make a certain amount of money, and if they're doing it from that sense of I need to be safe and secure, that's a fear program that is rooted in lack, limitation and separation there that I can't follow my core values and follow what I enjoy doing, because I don't believe it's going to make me the money I need to survive. So instead, I'm going to do this, I'm going to follow this path, and what happens we see it all the time is these people get to a point and they're like I can't do this anymore. This is soul sucking. I see it all the time with entrepreneurs in the online, in the coaching space, in the online entrepreneur space. I see it all the time. People do something because they think it's what's going to make them the money they need, and then they get to a place where they're just like it's not even worth it to me anymore. What if they followed that initial path that was in alignment and followed those inspirations and divine downloads? That will come through naturally when you are doing work that you are enjoying? Now, obviously, if you are in a place where you're like that's all sounds great, lisa, but how the hell am I going to pay my rent this month?

Speaker 1:

I'm not saying go willy nilly and jump into something that you don't believe is going to support you and just hope for the best. Just hope for the best. If you don't believe it will, then don't move in that direction. Until you have built the belief, you fully embody it. It's not just a hope or a wish or a sorry fingers crossed. It's a belief first, and then you will see it right. So let's switch it from I need to see it first to believe it to I'm going to believe it first and then I'm going to see it.

Speaker 1:

So part of the work is first getting clear on your core values. Look at your past. What in your childhood led to you feeling alive? What were you doing? A lot of the answers to these questions can be found in childhood. Not everybody remembers their childhood and that's okay. It doesn't mean you can't understand your core values. Look at what your core values are now. A way to get clarity is what really rubs you the wrong way, as opposed to thinking of what you truly like, opposed to thinking of what you truly like, because sometimes those are rooted in wounds and fear programs.

Speaker 1:

What really grates your gears? One of my core values is integrity. I operate from a place of integrity and I really can't operate from a place of. Can't operate from a place of like. I'm not. If someone offered me a great opportunity but it went against what I believe know to be true, I just can't do it.

Speaker 1:

I remember when I was doing health coaching there was a woman who was selling these done for you programs. But what she was sharing in the program certain foods she was sharing and certain things she was sharing, I knew creates inflammation in the body. I couldn't sell this program, even though it would have been so much easier for me to do that than create my own right, I had to go my own path because it just graded my gears. I really, you know she was a health practitioner as well and it just really bothered me that she was selling these things that created inflammation in the body. So when we can kind of look at what really goes against right, what like you just can't like, let's say, you know there's people I have a friend who she does not mind sitting at a desk, working at a desk in that corporate environment, right, or working in a cubicle. She's absolutely fine with that. Cool, right, she does it, she goes home, she lives her life. I could, there's no way I would, I could ever do that.

Speaker 1:

If you're listening to this, chances are you could never sit in a cubicle eight hours a day and work on something that's not important to you just for the sake of doing it right. That is a sign that's leading you towards what your values are, right. I want you to see everything as just kind of neutral, right, there's no good or bad in this world, so to speak. Right, obviously, that's arguable, but for this practice, if you could see, everything is simply just neutral, right. That takes away a lot of the shoulds, like I should be doing this, or I should be doing that, or I should value this, or I should value that. That's what gets people stuck. That's what gets people twisted up and living a life that they think they should be doing, as opposed to what's actually aligned, to what's gonna make them feel satisfied and fulfilled.

Speaker 1:

And again, not here to follow a fear program. You are here to break free of that, truly learn who you are at your core and express that into the world. Right, the world is a very beautiful I'm looking for the right word here. It's like everything is very. We have things for a specific reason, right, even though we can't see, potentially, where it's going to lead. So if you keep coming back to the fact that you love creating and you love making things for the sake of making things and creating things, but you have in your mind that you can't make money doing that, or you're foolish for doing that, or you're somehow less than if you're doing something like that, understand that there's a reason why you have that desire and it's connected to something else, but if you keep denying it and focusing in on something else, you're going to keep kind of bumping up against this wall.

Speaker 1:

So I've had multiple clients in high positions in the corporate world that have come to me and express that there's this other side of them, this creative side, the side that they want to explore more. But they've convinced themselves that it's a waste of time at that point of their life, it's not going to lead to anything substantial. They're so tied to their title right, it's giving them a sense of purpose or title. It's really simply just feeding a wound of unworthiness that their title is giving them and they don't believe that they can sustain the lifestyle that they have if they moved into this direction of, let's say, creativity, whatever that department is. And it's such a horrible, and it's such a horrible, horrible lie in this world. I know a woman in Los Angeles that left her career and went full on in her art and spiritual business that is wildly successful.

Speaker 1:

You can take anything and create a business and life around it. Now, of course, there is things to take into account, such as the market, what actually works in the market. But that's a small part of the equation, because if you do some pondering and get a little creative and learn the skills of marketing and sales, you can truly take anything and make a living from it. Right, you can truly make anything. People the exchange of money happens from an emotional standpoint. People purchase services and products because they believe it's going to increase their status in some way, whatever that status I don't mean status as like a status figure, but they purchase things that they believe are going to basically keep their self-identity intact or increase their self-identity. I'll give you a little side note of what that means so you can understand, because it's not just the fact of like continuing to improve the status although a lot of entrepreneurs and business leaders that's their goal but let's say that it's someone like my friend that's very happy working in corporate in a normal kind of role that she's not really that excited about because she goes home and lives her life.

Speaker 1:

Let's say that she was going to buy a new car and let's say that money wasn't an issue. However, she's living on a street where everyone has let's say where everyone has let's say Hondas and let's just say Hondas. Everyone has a Honda and she wants to maintain that status within the neighborhood. So what I mean by maintain the status is she wants to keep everything status quo. She's not likely going to go buy a Lamborghini because that Lamborghini in her driveway is going to stand out like a sore thumb amongst all these Hondas. And she may have the belief system that if I stand out like that, people aren't going to like me because they're going to think X, y, z. Again, none of this is based in truth. These are belief systems. So it's likely that she will buy a, whatever it is, honda, something similar to kind of to fit in that group, to maintain her status within the group.

Speaker 1:

Now, on the flip side, let's say we have a person who is expanding his career. He's working, let's say he's at a law firm and he drives a Honda. When he gets to the law firm as a new attorney, he sees that everyone has BMWs. Well, he may have a belief system that he wants to fit in with everyone else. He needs to get a BMW. Right? This is an emotional response to fit in. Again, this is not logic, right? People purchase from emotion. Typically. Sometimes the logic will follow it and it will kind of seal the deal for a person to make that purchase. But it's all based its core is based in emotion, because they believe it's going to improve their life in some way. So, for his status, he's going to work to buy a BMW. He's likely going to purchase that Now, again, I'm generalizing.

Speaker 1:

Not everyone is like this, but for the most part, just to make the point of you can really truly sell anything, make a living doing anything, when what you are offering gives that person a sense of oh, this is either increasing my status or it's keeping me in the status quo, which is where I want to be status, or it's keeping me in the status quo, which is where I want to be right, keeping up with the Joneses, let's say so. I'm going to wrap this up for this episode. We're going to continue talking about this as we move into 2025. I'm really going to be focusing in on my framework that I've developed over 11 years and that I'm testing now in the Magnetic Leadership Accelerator which, by the way, if you're interested to learn more, is still currently at the beta rate and what I've included for the people joining right now in the beta part of the program is three one-on-one private calls which, if you were to purchase them separately, would pretty much add up to the entire cost of the program. So you're basically getting the program, a 12-week program and lifetime access to the curriculum for an insane rate. If you're interested in learning more, please send me an email at info at lisajeffscom, or you can also book right now.

Speaker 1:

If you're listening to this, as it's posted a few weeks after it's posted, this is another update. I'm no longer offering the breakthrough calls, as I was last or this year and what I've been doing for basically 11 years. I am shifting it to what's called a test drive consult. So it's going to be a little bit more in depth, it's going to give you a little bit more to work with and it's also a way for us to see if coaching either private coaching or the magnetic leadership accelerator is the right fit for you. But there will be a non-refundable deposit for that. So if you want to get in on the complimentary call where there is no non-refundable deposit, there is no cost. Please do that within the next week or two, as that will no longer be an option moving forward as it is right now.

Speaker 1:

There may be other times where I offer it. There may be other times where I offer it, but the full session, which is pretty much like a you're going to leave with a lot more clarity. You're going to leave with a lot like a breakthrough. That's my goal. It's not just a simple sales call to see if you're a good fit. You are leaving with a breakthrough, good fit, like you were leaving with a breakthrough. That's what I enjoy doing and it doesn't take away from me enrolling people into the program, so why wouldn't I give that? But take advantage of it and there are limited spots, obviously, as we move into the holidays, so grab your into the holidays. So grab your right now. It's called a test drive consult.

Speaker 1:

Apologies, I lost track of what I was talking about beforehand, so I'm just going to wrap it up. I want you to really Get clear on your values and also I want you to determine are these my core values? Are these values that I'm currently living? But they're actually rooted in a wounding right as opposed to my true core self. So, for a lot of type A's and a lot of entrepreneurs and business leaders that are quite ambitious, many have a value of hard work, but that value is often rooted in wounding right and this is why there's so many in this arena get burnt out and overwork. We're going to be continuing this conversation because there's so many in this arena get burnt out and overwork. We're going to be continuing this conversation because it's really important and there's so many different parts to it.

Speaker 1:
